My dog had a litter of puppies and I had homes for them all but I decided to keep two of them is that too many?

She only had four and I have two dogs already and so I decided to keep two of the puppies. I have gotten so attached I cant hardly stand the thought of giving them away. So my husband agreed to keeping two. So I will have a total of four dogs in the house do you think that is too many or what is too many? I am going to get the male fixed first then each female afterwards.
