Just got to Disney World quesion of if i should bring my cannon camera or not...?

I just got to my hotel and i'm going to disney world with my family. i haven't been on a vacation in years and i really want to document all of this one but the only camera i own that i brought is my digital camera (cannon rebel xsi) which was pretty expensive..... I haven't been to disney world since i was a child so i don't really remember how everything goes if i bring it can i take it with me on rides? i wanted to bring a bag but i'm not sure if it's a bad idea to bring anything at all if i have to leave it outside of the ride or what not. please let me know what you think. and soon because i'm leaving in an hour!! thanks :]
