How to eliminate cat litter smell?

I use Pettex Cat litter which is self clumping and clean the litter tray every day, but the smell remains, I find myself regularly throwing the whole lot away scrubbing the tray with Mr Muscle Cleaner and having to refresh the litter every day which is working out very expensive. Does anybody have any solutions or how to get rid of the odor?
